Ylva Storm,
Ceramic artist and sculptress who has found her own exciting niche. Increasingly requested in prestigious circles in Europe. Currently she is exhibiting at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, and has a busy calendar over the next couple of years…
“To develop ones own method of expression catches the attention of others “
Ylva nearly stumbled on her talent in a ceramics course, and was catapulted into a rocketing career as a sculptress in the region she lives, and is now gaining increasing recognition throughout Scandinavia and Europe.
Her hand-built or moulded ceramic objects are burned in her own hand-made wood fired kilns in her garden.
The works are her truly unique niche of torsos, classical shapes with imprinted lace patterns, and some with an almost mystical element of angels wings.
Her work also include her very characteristic birds which has a loving quality.
Her concepts are ever developing, making this artist one to keep a close eye on.
She was born in Bollnäs, 1967. In 1983 she moved to Årjäng in the beautiful region of Värmland in west Sweden, where she lives with her family and has her ceramics studio.
